Chiefs Beat Both Super Bowl Participants

Updated: May 21, 2018

Remember when the Kansas City Chiefs were on that hot start with a 5-0 record? And do you remember when they kinda blew it towards the other half of the season, going 5-6? Well, they still held their end of the bargain in the Wild Card, but something else makes this team one of a kind.

That's right, the Chiefs have beaten both Super Bowl participants -- the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles -- in the preseason. In Week 1, the first game of the season set the bar pretty high when the Chiefs beat the Patriots. The next week, in Week 2, the Chiefs knock off the Eagles.

Believe it or not, this isn't new for them. They've beaten at LEAST one Super Bowl participant in the regular season for FOUR consecutive years! Last year, they pulverized the Atlanta Falcons, who starred in Super Bowl 51. A year before, they beat Denver, who went on to versus Carolina in the Super Bowl 50. A year before that, they beat the Seahawks, who advanced to try on the Patriots in Super Bowl 49.

Now, that sheds the Chiefs in a whole new light. Beating at least one of the Super Bowl participants in regular season while not even making it to the Super Bowl themselves or even the AFC CONFERENCE game is pretty uncool.
