Week Fifteen: Power Rankings

Updated: Apr 12, 2018

Hey! Good luck matching Week 15, because this week's matches, in particular, were riveting towards the final moments. In that possible future AFC conference rematch with the Steelers and the Patriots, where Ju-Ju Smith-Schuster and Ben Roethlisberger did the unthinkable with a LONG play. Only two snaps later, however, that Jesse James booth review overturned it all. We also got to see Nick Foles, showing that the Eagles are gonna win, even with him throwing the ball. Less than 2,500 miles away, Jimmy Garoppolo is racking those wins and leading a 49er future that's worth looking forward to. Let's look at the power rankings.

st Rank: New England Patriots (+1)

nd Rank: Minnesota Vikings (+1)

rd Rank: Pittsburgh Steelers (-2)

th Rank: Philadelphia Eagles (--)

th Rank: Los Angeles Rams (--)

th Rank: New Orleans Saints (--)

th Rank: Jacksonville Jaguars (--)

th Rank: Carolina Panthers (--)

Not much change in the eight seeds, as you may have already noticed. The Patriots retake their number one spot after having the NFL rulebook on their side, the Vikings crushed the Bengals, the Steelers weren't too lucky on Sunday, the Eagles, winning, but giving up 29 points to a team that's put GENO SMITH on quarterback is really weird, and the Rams, Saints, Jaguars, and Panthers staying in their respective spots. We kinda predicted the change, if any, was gonna occur in those top few spots. Let's move on to the next eight.

th Rank: Atlanta Falcons (+1)

th Rank: Dallas Cowboys (+2)

th Rank: Kansas City Chiefs (+7)

th Rank: Baltimore Ravens (+1)

th Rank: Los Angeles Chargers (-4)

th Rank: Detroit Lions (+2)

th Rank: Buffalo Bills (+2)

th Rank: Green Bay Packers (-2)

The next few eight have changed quite a bit. The Falcons rise one spot up after a win in Tampa Bay, the Cowboys beat the Raiders in Oakland, the Chiefs are becoming their number one seed-selves after beating the Chargers, Ravens rise a spot while Los Angeles falls, the Lions beat the Bears, the Bills beat the slippery Dolphins and the Packers fall with a loss EVEN with A-rod. Pretty embarrassing. Hopefully that'll change up next week, but let's head on to the next eight.

th Rank: Seattle Seahawks (-6)

th Rank: Washington Redskins (+1)

th Rank: San Francisco 49ers (+4)

th Rank: Tennessee Titans (-5)

st Rank: Oakland Raiders (-1)

nd Rank: Arizona Cardinals (--)

rd Rank: Miami Dolphins (-2)

th Rank: Chicago Bears (--)

Starting the 17th through the 24th ranks, we see that 17th spot falling A LOT. The Seahawks lost terribly to the Rams, the Redskins beat the Cardinals by 5 points, the Jimmy G led 49ers are mining for some gold after another win, the Titans fall after losing, the Raiders lose to the Cowboys, the Cardinals lost to the Redskins, as we've said, the Dolphins lost to the Bills, and the Bears lose to the Lions in Detroit. Pretty bad stuff for the Hawks. We'll see if they'll come back. Let's finally talk about the last eight in the power rankings.

th Rank: Denver Broncos (+2)

th Rank: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (--)

th Rank: Cincinnati Bengals (-2)

th Rank: New York Jets (--)

th Rank: Indianapolis Colts (--)

th Rank: New York Giants (+1)

st Rank: Houston Texans (-1)

nd Rank: Cleveland Browns (--)

Whew. Finally we're at the last eight to talk about. The Broncos take a win against the Colts - too late for THAT buddy. The Buccaneers lose a close one to the Falcons, so we didn't move them at all, the Bengals lose to the second seed Vikings, the Jets couldn't get anything going, the Colts rather the same, the Giants getting at least SOMETHING working and giving the Wentz-less Eagles a fight. The Texans lose once again, and the Browns cap it off at 32.

We're getting there folks, we're getting to those playoffs. Right about now, some football fans might notice a couple of websites posting their opinions of the playoffs based on the spots sealed right now, but there's a reason why the famous "NFL.com" doesn't do the same. It's too early! We know, playoffs are something no one can wait for, but we still got two weeks. That's two weeks of time that some of teams have to formulate some plans to kick some teams off the playoff spots and put their own team in it. We'll see how it'll end up.
